Cusco, sometimes spelled Cuzco, is a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Cusco was once the capital of the Incan empire until the Spanish conquest in the 16th century. It is the hub city for tourist due to its proximity from many popular destinations, such as Machu Picchu. The population is 429,000 people at an elevation of 11,200 ft.
